Preview:
Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election Results will be announced on the 16th of May 2009. Even though the polling for both the Assembly and Parliament seats are complete in the just concluded second phase elections, the election commission has decided to start the counting of votes at a later date so as to not to have impact of these results on the remaining phases of general elections.

There is a real tough contest for every seat in Andhra Pradesh between the top parties - TDP (TRS, CPIM CPI), Congress and PRP. We can only wait and see the outcome to see who the people of AP has voted for.

As the counting of elections begin on the 16th of May 2009 - most of the TV channels, news channels will show the election results LIVE. I will post the latest updates of the results on this site.

Sanjeev Naik’s 5-Point plan for the Future City.
Congress-NCP candidate from Thane constituency Dr Sanjeev Naik recently launched his official website http://www.sanjeevgnaik.com/ in a bid to have more interpersonal interaction with the citizen.
The five pointers announced on the occasion attempt to cover all major grievances faced by the public. This includes solving water crisis, providing healthy living, addressing traffic concerns, controlling pollution and rehabilitation of slums. Accordingly, the candidate intends to bring excess water from Morbe Dam to Thane in future to bridge the water requirement.
He assures to start with water transport, monorail in the constituency. Installation of sewerage treatment plants in the constituency and planting more trees to protect the environment have also been mentioned in the pointers.

Ganesh Naik orders the rehabilitation of street vendors.
Labour and Enviornment Minsiter Ganesh Naik has ordered the proper rehabilitation of an estimation of an estimated hawkers who have been displaced by the ongoing work of Sanpada-Palm Beach Flyover.
Among those who have lost theirs means of livelihood were vegetable vendors and some women’s self help groups. On 10 January, they went with their grievances to labour minister Ganesh Naik immediately directed NMMC that the affected persons be provided with a suitable plot where they can continue their businesses.
“They should be rehabilitated in the same manner as the Project Affected Persons (PAPs),” the minister told the NMMC officials present on the spot.

Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik Started Krida Mahotsav with the lighting of the torch by the youth at Vashi's Shivaji Chowk
The Navi Mumbai Krida Sankul started the “Navi Mumbai Krida Mahotsav 2009’ in a grand ceremony at Vashi. Navi Mumbai Krida Mahotsav started with the lighting of the torch by the youth at Vashi's Shivaji Chowk, giving the zestful start to the event. The youth then took the rally with the torch to the venue to give a lighting start to the Navi Mumbai Krida Mahotsav 2009. The procession was welcomed by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chaggan Bhujbal in the presence of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, Navi Mumbai Krida Sankul President Dr. Sanjeev Naik, Mayor of Navi Mumbai Anjani Bhoir and Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik and many other local NCP leaders. 12000 students from more than 150 schools are participating in this sports event.

It is good to have parties closely contesting. people look divided over the issue and there is no sweep for any party in andhrapradesh. people are thinking and making the choice carefully. This trend shows that they are not under any impact or impression. The political parties will be careful when they come into power if they get a meagre majority. The opposition also will be strong enough to raise objections over issues in the assembly. let us look forward for the results and have a great time ahead

Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had initiated the drive to provide Additional FSI Decision to be Taken Before Winter Session
Standing up for these families and to provide them with legal houses, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had demanded to provide additional FSI to slum and gaonthan areas. For this purpose, a survey was even conducted in Bonkande village, a report of which was sent to the Chief Minister. Ganesh Naik Solves the Problems of Power in Villages
The villages situated near MIDC like Pawne, Mahape and many others were forced to live in darkness due to frequent power cuts. However, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik came to the aid of the people and now MSEDC has resolved this issue.
For the past many years, MSEDC has been distributing power to the villages of Mahape, Pawne, Digha and Turbhe through the MIDC feeder. However, these areas used to face power cuts for 24 hours in a week, and sometimes to even 36 hours. With little power supply, the villagers also faced the issue of shortage of water supply. Looking at the problems faced by the villagers, Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik directed MSEDC to provide power to these villages through a different feeder.

Naik trounces Chauguley
Wins Thane seat with margin of 49,020 votes
The celebrations begun at 9 am when NCP candidate Sanjeev Naik had a clear lead of 350 votes after the initial five rounds of counting for the Thane Parliamentary constituency held at Wagle Estate in Thane on Saturday. Giving a big blow to Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in its traditional bastion, Naik, the elder son of Maharashtra Minister Ganesh Naik, won by a clear margin of 49,020 votes becoming the first Member of Parliament from Navi Mumbai.
While Naik grabbed 3,01,000 lakh votes, his rival Vijay Chauguley of Shiv Sena polled 2,51,980 votes. Political observers attributed the stunning success of Naik to the 'MNS' factor, which ate into the votes of the saffron alliance. MNS candidate Rajan Raje's substantial count of 1,34,840 votes surprised many. Even BSP candidate Avanindra Kumar Tripathi

After the victory, a jubilant Sanjeev Naik had only two sentences to say. "The credit for the win goes to my party members and the people who voted for me," Naik said while greeting his party members and followers. An ecstatic crowd lifted Naik and MLC Jitendra Avhad to express their joy. A long car rally around Thane city followed.
He was accompanied by Airoli-based NCP corporator M K Madhvi, Vashi-based loyalist Bharat Nakhate, former standing committee chairperson Jayaji Nath and other prominent corporators of Navi Mumbai. Ganesh Naik Promises to get funds for city court building.
Mr.Naik gave this assurance to a delegation of Navi Mumbai Advocate Bar Association led by its President H B Patil who met the minister recently with regard to the construction of the court building in the city.
Mr Naik further added that the state finance Ministry would be requested to fund the required amount for the court building construction as a special consideration.

NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik toured the city wards to get a first hand information on the pre-monsoon cleaning work done in the city.

NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik took a tour of the wards from Digha to Turbhe to get a first hand information about the pre-monsoon work that has been completed by the NMMC administration. His first visit was to Digha where he physically visited the pre-monsoon nullah cleaning work at Ganesh Thakur’s ward. His next stop was to Airoli, then Koperkhairane and Vashi where again he met with the heads of the respective departments. He was accompanied by City Engineer Mohan Dagaonkar during his visits. NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik spoke on the purpose of his visit.

He has become the chairman for the third consecutive year, as no other candidate expresses the desire to file their Nomination Papers from Navi Mumbai this year.

Vashi: From the last two years, NMMC’s Standing Committee’s chairman post has been held by Sandeep Naik. This year, he has become the chairman for the third consecutive year. “We won this post unopposed, as no other corporator filed his nominations papers for this post on Thursday, at the NMMC headquarters. So no voting was required.” Said NMMC secretary Chandrakant Devkar. Naik will be declared chairman of the standing committee 2009-10 led by the divisional commissioner of Konkan Bhavan on Friday at the standing Committee hall.
